Sahan Journal reported that Ahmed Ghedi and Abdihakim Ahmed donated a total of $5,400 to Omar's campaign in early 2021. Both were named in FBI search warrant affidavits as associates of Safari Restaurant and Event Center. Omar's campaign donated the contributions to three local food shelves out of an abundance of caution after the affidavits were unsealed.
